Questions?
Answers.
Answers to common questions about our 3D printing process. Get in touch if you have special requirements.
Which file formats do you accept?
For 3D models, use STL, STEP/STP, 3MF or OBJ. The form also accepts ZIP, PDF, JPG/JPEG, PNG and WebP. If direct upload is unavailable, you can attach your files to an e-mail to contact@formorix.com.
What is the largest printable part?
Our current printer has a nominal build volume of 300 × 300 × 300 mm. The practically usable size can be smaller depending on material, geometry and orientation. A larger multi-material system is in development.
What materials are available?
Many common filaments are in stock or can be sourced. For specialist materials, we check suitability and may need additional procurement time. Not every filament is appropriate for every shape, load or operating temperature.
How much does 3D printing cost?
Our introductory rate is 5 CHF per estimated printing hour, plus material and a 5 CHF order preparation fee. Simple CAD assistance: 15 CHF per hour. A final price is only provided after an individual review.
How do I pay?
After reviewing your project, we issue an individual quotation. We only agree on payment and production once you have expressly accepted it. PayPal or bank transfer are planned options; we confirm the available method with your quotation.
Do I need a finished 3D model?
Not necessarily. A hand-drawn sketch or photograph may be enough for an initial assessment. Accurate CAD modelling needs sufficiently precise dimensions. We can prepare a printable model by arrangement, with CAD time quoted separately.
Do you already offer multi-material or 500 mm printing?
Not yet as a regular service. A larger toolchanger system is in development. We only advertise capabilities once we can deliver them reliably.
Can FORMORIX ship internationally?
We welcome project enquiries worldwide. Delivery availability, shipping costs, customs formalities, import duties and applicable local regulations are checked for each destination before a binding order. We cannot guarantee delivery to every country.
How accurate are 3D-printed parts?
Accuracy and surface quality depend on material, nozzle size, layer height, orientation and part geometry. Please specify critical dimensions and fits.
What happens to my CAD files?
We use your files to assess your enquiry and, if agreed, manufacture your order. We store online submissions privately and schedule them for deletion 90 days after upload. We ask for your express permission before using your work as a public example. See our privacy notice for details.
Are your parts certified for safety-critical applications?
No. We currently do not provide certified production for medical, regulated or other safety-critical applications. Customers must assess suitability for their intended use.
How soon can you deliver?
Lead time depends on file review, material, workload and geometry. Allow roughly one week as an initial guide for smaller jobs, not a guaranteed deadline. We confirm the binding production estimate in your quotation; international shipping may take additional time.
